What is Dynamics 365?

Stay agile by unifying your CRM and ERP into one intelligent business application.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) unifies CRM and ERP capabilities into one intelligent cloud-based platform. This enables organizations of any size to connect and run all aspects of their business seamlessly. It also allows them to anticipate and respond to customer needs in real time across geographies and departments.

Overall, D365 is an app-based business management solution; a suite of software and services that can be licensed in several ways to suit your company’s profile. This gives you the freedom to choose the apps and workloads you need at the pace you prefer.

D365 breaks down barriers between data and software by connecting all your business applications, devices, and channels. In addition, you will experience optimized workflows, enhanced data sourcing and powerful decision-making tools to drive your business forward.

The Dynamics 365 components

Each component of D365 can be used individually. However, D365 is a case of the total being more important than the sum of its components.

The base of Dynamics 365

In addition to the different apps, there are a range of base components that are key to making D365 the optimal foundation of your digital transformation

Power BI
Microsoft Power BI is the native Business Intelligence component of D365. Both ERP and CRM solutions are great data collection tools, but their true value lies in analyzing, interpreting and presenting the captured data in order to facilitate better business decisions. Power BI allows you to do just that – it even has pre-built dashboards and KPIs for many business areas and processes.

Microsoft Flow is a no-code/low-code tool to automate otherwise manual processes. It allows superusers to create flows without any developer skills. This includes triggers to start the flow, and the steps and tasks to be completed. A flow can, for example, be triggered by an email arriving, which leads to a new contact creation in D365 for Sales, and many other events across D365, Office 365 and beyond.

Power Apps
Power Apps allows superusers to create data viewing, entry forms and small apps without the need for developer skills, and without making customizations to the ERP or CRM solution. Power Apps can access data from D365 as well as the Common Data Model, allowing Power Apps to be seamlessly integrated into the D365 platform and data.

Common Data Service
The Common Data Service is the glue that allows D365 to be a single coherent solution, and to avoid unmaintained data silos across the business. The Common Data Model is also the foundation of integrated end-to-end processes. For example, D365 for Sales and Operations extends from the sales opportunity all the way to the cash process.

So, to sum it all up

D365 will enable you to:
• start with what you need for your business, and develop at your own pace in the cloud
• gain better insight with built-in, powerful business intelligence
• stay agile and adapt to changing market demands with scalable applications and platforms.
